7:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Welcome Reception at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
Experience a gem of Omaha that is consistently rated one of the top zoos in the world. We will be inside the aquarium, the largest zoo aquarium in the world, where attendees can experience what its like to be walking on the bottom of the ocean and go face to face with fish, sea turtles, and sharks in the state of the art 70 foot shark tunnel.
Thursday, July 25
We will spend majority of the day in Omaha world famous Holland Performing Arts Center.
Thursday will feature several policy panels on topics including Energy, Public Private Partnerships, Educational Choice, and more.
Omaha's Mayor Jean Stothert will be joining us for lunch before we head out for the rest of the day's activities.
Thursday afternoon we will visit TD Ameritrade Park, home of the NCAA College World Series for several activities to be announced at a later date.
Friday, July 26
Friday, convention goers will hit the road and head to Nebraska's capital city, Lincoln. In Lincoln we will visit the State Capitol building where we will hold YRNF Committee meetings, Regional Meetings, and our national board meetings within the Legislative hearing rooms and Nebraska's historic Warner Senate Chamber.
For lunch we will be visited by several YR dignitaries from Nebraska and across the Midwest.
Our visit to Lincoln would not be complete without a stop at the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium.
After our fun in Lincoln we will head back to Omaha for a dinner with a special guest to be announced at a later date.
Saturday, July 27
Saturday is the big day and will kick off early with credentialing and final registrations of delegates.
We are excited to be working with United States Senator Deb Fischer to join in her Bridging the Gap event on Saturday morning. Bridging the Gap is a yearly event hosted by Senator Fischer that specifically focuses on women's empowerment, networking, and leadership. Senator Fischer has lined up a very special speaker for this event that you will not want to miss!
After Bridging the Gap we will break for lunch before the convention begins in the early afternoon. Stay tuned for the announcement of our special convention speaker!
Post convention we will take some time to relax before all coming together to celebrate the elections of our national board during a world class dinner and awards ceremony with a very special guest.
Sunday, July 28
There are several churches around downtown Omaha that would love to welcome newcomers to their Sunday morning services. A comprehensive list will be provided in the convention books upon check-in.
Events will also be set up for those who are still in town and want to experience more of what Omaha has to offer.
